Food Values

I'm off to 7-11 for some more Diet Coke (something about the fountain service just makes it taste better).

Normally, I might pick up a breakfast of Pop-Tarts, the Frosted Cherry ones. That's really not a good idea, because, well...look at this:
The key point being that I can have a tasty hot McDonald's breakfast biscuit with freakin' bacon for a cost of only 4 calories more that the Pop-Tart. Now I know dieting is a slow process, and every little bit counts, but that 4 calories really doean't matter.

(The calories come from different sources: There's more fat in the Bacon, Egg, and Cheese Biscuit. It's a difference worth remembering, but with the low calorie diet I'm planning, it won't much matter what it's made of.)

Actually, I'm going to fast for another day if I can stand it, so no McDonald's or Kellogg's today.

Weight loss isn't necessarly a slow process. I lost 80 pounds in six months on Atkins and ate like a king. I lost 20 pounds the first two weeks and my energy level went through the ceiling. After a few months, I went off all my blood pressure, cholesterol and diabetes meds. All my blood tests came back within the normal range. After the first few years, my arteries tested clean as a whistle. I used to bubble like a coffee percolator all day. I thought I had acid reflux. Not so much as a bubble after the first week. I've had very painful arthritis in my hands most of my adult life. It's gone. My skin, hair and nails have never been better and people say I look 15 years younger than my actual age. I did this by ignoring the global warming, Chicken Little, aging hippies who say this way of eating will kill you and by putting full faith in the diet. This morning for breakfast, I had some scrambled eggs with cheese sauce and five breakfast sausage links. I could have had more if I'd been hungrier. For lunch, I plan to have a large chicken salad. I could eat an entire chicken and it wouldn't affect my weight. I think for dinner, I'll have a nice ribeye with green beans and a side salad. Take a look at http://www.geocities.com/cherilynn82000/Newbiepage.html and then go over to http://www.lowcarbfriends.com/ and ask a few questions. If you have even the slightest belief that Atkins might work, buy the book (Dr. Atkins New Diet Revolution), read it and start. It will change your life. And if you don't feel like an entirely different person after the first two weeks, you can just quit. Oh, and lay off the diet coke. Aspartame slows weight loss and is not good for you. Try Diet Rite.
